Fashion; More Than Clothing

One month ago today I decided to take a chance, go out on a limb, start something new. I decided to make a blog. So in honor of my one month anniversary I thought I would share with all of you why I created this blog, and what it means to me. <3

Fashion is much more than an outfit, style, or trend to me. Fashion is a passion, a statement, and a way of life. Just through the simple acts of learning, creating, and exploring the world of fashion you can gain far more knowledge and understanding about the world around you than a lifetime spent learning and studying academics. Fashion is the epitome of self expression and self confidence....

I really hope to be much more than the average fashion blogger. I hope to inspire, to grow, to teach, and to create a place where no matter who you are, or what you wear, you feel as though my blog has something to offer you.

My Fashion Must Haves for Spring

Swapping out your winter coat for a Denim Jacket, putting away your warm leggings, in exchange for a cute dress, or placing your winter boots back into your closet, and taking out your favorite pair of sandals. Nothing says spring quite like trading in all those heavy winter layers for lighter more comfortable ones. Spring is by far one of my favorite seasons for fashion. Partially due to the excitement of actually being able to show some skin, and partially because of all the bright and vibrant colors that you get to wear. The first signs of spring are always so exciting. They bring with them a promise of a renewed hope for long, warm, and sunny days, as well as the possibility for more fashionable and trendy clothing. Lets be honest, Winter can make it very difficult to be trendy. I mean sure you may have a cute outfit on, but in order to go anywhere in that outfit, you must first put on a bulky coat, along with a scarf, and gloves, and sometimes even a hat, completely covering up any sense of style you had going on. Spring however is different. In spring you don't have to hide behind layers, and layers of clothing. You get to wear your outfits the way you intended to, and you get to leave your house without feeling like a giant marshmallow. So cheers to this spring season season, may it be all that you hope it to be, and more!

On Trend for Spring 2013

It's that time of year again, when the sun's getting warmer, the grass is getting greener, and the flowers are beginning to blossom. It's time to start putting away our winter clothing, time to remove those layers and let a little more skin show. From the Catwalk to the Sidewalk

I was looking through some pictures of different collections shown at fashion week and was wishing I could wear some of the outfits I saw. Of course everything on the runway is far to expensive for me to even dream of owning, as I'm sure is true for most of you. But it got me thinking, that it would be cool to try and re-create some of the designers outfits using cheeper pieces from clothing stores I can actually afford. It ended up being quite a fun little experiment; going to different online stores, and looking through their clothing to try and spot the perfect shirt, skirt, etc, that most closely resembled the one on the runway. I highly recommend doing this if you too want to be seen in the most current and on trend looks. And it just goes to show that anyone really can rock the 'runway look' without the 'runway price.'
